Under-ram presses

Description

The Abrapress presses called “Under-ram presses” are used for cold pressing of abrasive material. They are characterized by a frontal loading, that is generally manually carried out by the operator; the unloading of the finished product can occur either in manual or in automatic mode.

The name is derived from the manual work of the operator on the mould below the ram.

Pressing in the moulds is carried out by means of a hydraulic-control ram with different diameters and working pressures to meet the customer’s needs. The turning table for the mould positioning can be of different dimensions too.

The mould generally consists of a multi-cavity tooling but can also be single. The versatility of this machine lies in the tooling changeover and the possibility of producing several wheel sizes on the same machine.

All subassemblies necessary for production, i.e. the ejector and the wheel removers, can be hydraulically or electrically controlled by means of brushless motors.

The abrasive material can be loaded either in manual or in automatic mode by means of buckets and crushers or mixing tanks and belts, while the material levelling is always carried out with a shuttle box.
